Oddly, not a week prior I was looking down at my non existent waste line, flabby hips, thick thighs, and the inability to perform one single pull up on our pull up bar and wondered if the 20 extra pounds gained from birthing kids, eating great food, and being slothenly was worth looking and feeling like an overstuffed turkey at Thanksgiving.
No one can tell me that looking down at their waste line and checking out that baby fat, that should have went away when your kids turned into teens, is attractive. No one likes looking or feeling this way, because we don't. I should just say it, it's bad for your health as well.
Then I was led onto a couple of videos of an individual who really had health problem, worse than mine; and trust me there is not a single "itis" I don't own "tinnitis, arthritis, bursitis, and tendinitis, along with a slew of other age related conditions not itis related. Health related problems are not one sided, they don't happen just because your old, they don't happen just because you are genetically inclined, they happen due to a long life of poor habits. Habits that hit us in the face through social media, parents, friends, and personal habits.
When you choose your diet, god I hate the word diet. Diet means to change your eating habits to reflect that of a cow, fish, or exotic bird. Who eats nothing but salad every day, then feels full for any length of time. Has anyone ever googled the nutritional value of that light colored crunchy stuff? Vitamin C 3%, Vitamin A 7%, Calcium 1%, Iron 2% (based on 72g). I'm not feeling it! Go Romain if your going to eat lettuce at all. Seafood diet, same thing, mercury here I come. Lastly, fruit and nut juice, "If that's a thing".... can you say constipation. All non sustainable eating habits. That is my complaint, who can eat a fad diet for 2 days little long 2 years?
Lets see: Nutrition value of a steak (6 oz) B1, B2, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, B6, Folate, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin D, Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Sodium, Zinc, Maganese, Copper, Selenium (https://www.health-alternatives.com/beef-nutrients.html). I'm convinced!
There is actually a point to my rambling, it started with a pod cast from Joe Rogan. The guy is controversial on many different subjects but my focus is only on a couple of pod casts that talk about changing your diet to that of your local lion, I mean carnivore.
Now to back reference the podcast, Jordan Peterson and his daughter have autoimmune disorder; a disorder that has killed in his family already and at a young age. Every change, starting with low carb bettered his health. I'm not just saying bettered it in a nice small way by giving him a little more energy and less acne. I mean bettered his health in a way that he is now stronger, healthier, happier, and smarter than he has ever been in his entire life. His daughter IS now benefiting from the same gain of eating minimally and only of protein based foods. I trust people with real success stories more than I trust Pharmaceutical company based surveys telling me I have to choose between low fat and low carb. I'm sorry but a pill cannot fix everything.

This pod cast led me onto the next pod cast where I ran into a doctor who only eats meat. Here is a man who is an active practitioner of the healing arts and is doing something that is considered taboo by the masses, or at least by the processing companies, bread companies, and candy and sugar companies.
Joe Rogan talks to Shawn Baker, a doctor and athlete who eats nothing but meat.

This led me onto another pod cast that actually asks, is a meat only diet healthy? Honesty with all the disinformation out there, it's hard to answer that question even for the professionals. But in this pod cast there were a couple of debunked mysteries. Like, if you don't eat citrus won't you get scurvy? Hhhhmmm, we all know sailors died of scurvy because the predominate food on ships in the beginning were dried beans and jerky (salted meat). When citrus was added I.E. vitamin C, Walla healthy sailors. What we find in those people who choose to eat meat, you don't actually need a lot of Vitamin C if you don't consume carbohydrates. WOW! Who would have known.

Don't get me wrong, I don't recommend any one try this on a whim. I have thought about this, researched it, discussed the pro and cons with my husband and I fully understand that if it is not working for me then I stop.
Date: 1 Sept 18
Weight: 160.08 oz
Breakfast: So I started this morning with steak and eggs: 6 Oz steak & 1 egg and it was delish, soak it down with two cups of coffee.
Snack: more coffee and 6 oz of cut squid
Lunch: 8 oz steak with a slice of bacon crumbled over it, 2 cups water
Supper: 6 oz chicken hearts, 2 cups of water
How I felt throughout the day: I was already pretty tired when I woke up and none of the food I consumed really changed that. I don't believe I will see a huge difference in overall energy, physique, and health in one day. I did find that consuming a variety of meats made the fact of eating that quantity of meat a little more palatable.
